A Soft Place To Land & Relax

A Soft Place To Land & Relax

It's 420, and we'd rather be laying on a blanket in an overgrown backyard or field with nowhere to be and no one expecting a reply.

This weeks post is a little softer than our norm. We’re flying through July. The heat is heavier, the sun’s sticking around longer, and time has taken on that soft, stretchy feeling again. Summer’s in full cannonball mode, but if you’ve felt a little off lately, you’re not alone.

I lost my Dad this month. That sentence still doesn’t feel real. And honestly, I don’t know if it ever will.

Grief is strange. It’s heavy and loud, but also quiet and slow. It shows up when you least expect it and disappears when you’re bracing for the wave. It hides in playlists, in grocery store aisles, in the pause before you light up. But in between all of it, cannabis has been a soft place to land. Not an escape, just something that helps me breathe through it. A companion to therapy. A reminder to sit still and feel what’s here.

Sometimes healing looks like a long walk with your headphones in. Sometimes it looks like crying on the floor while your dog stares at you. Sometimes it looks like packing a bowl and doing absolutely nothing, on purpose.

Grieving doesn’t have to be scary. It can be honest. Tender. Weird. Soft. And if you’re moving through something right now, recent or not. We’d love to hear from you. Tell us what’s helped. Tell us about someone you miss. Or don’t say anything at all. Just sit with us for a second.

So, without further ado, we have our weekly inspiration for you to spark your afternoon daydreams. 🌿✨

The Art of Doing Nothing

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is nothing at all. This piece makes a case for idleness, not as laziness, but as necessary space. A moment to rest, let your thoughts drift, and let creativity do its thing without a deadline. When your mind gets quiet, the good ideas have a chance to speak up. So stretch out, unplug for a sec, and let yourself just be. You’re not wasting time, you’re just making room.

Cooking Through Our Feelings

Michelle Zauner sits down with Maangchi to talk about food, grief, and the ways both can bring us back to ourselves. What starts as a conversation about kimchi turns into something softer, about memory, loss, and keeping culture alive one bite at a time. It’s tender, grounding, and a reminder that what we eat often says what we can’t.

Cannabis 🤝 Grief

Losing someone you love cracks the world open in quiet, unexpected ways. This writer shares how cannabis helped soften the sharp edges of grief, offering space to sit with the feelings instead of outrun them. There’s no map for loss, but a little stillness, a little breath, and a sometimes even a little weed can make it feel easier to navigate. A gentle reminder that healing isn’t linear, and you don’t have to do it all at once.
